Dear respected brothers! We were
talking about the person who walked on the earth whom the earth never seen
before and not going to be seen again. The mercy for the mankind the prophet
Mohammed sw. last week we talked about his mekkan life. Today we talked in our
bangla khutbah about the early stage of madani life till the battle of Badar.
There were many incidents that took
place on this journey until they finally reached their destination.
The Muslims in Yathrib had waited eagerly for their beloved Prophet’s (pbuh) arrival as before they have been informed about the messages of Allah. Every morning they would come to one of the hillocks and look far into the desert for any sign of travellers coming towards Yathrib. When the sun became extremely hot, the Muslims would leave and return to their houses.
After a long and tiring Journey, Muhammad (pbuh) and his close companion Abu Bakr had safely arrived in Quba.

After a long and tiring Journey, Muhammad (pbuh) and his close companion Abu Bakr had safely arrived in Quba.
And the Makkans had tried their best to
prevent Muhammad (pbuh) from performing this Hijra. They had tried all their
tactics and plans to stop the Prophet (pbuh) from preaching Islam but they had
failed miserably.
When the Prophet (pbuh) arrived in Quba
there were many scenes of joy and celebration. The people welcomed Muhammad
(pbuh) with open arms. The air was filled with shouts of the Takbir –Allahu
Akbar (Allah is great) and the singing of the children. After the people had
met the prophet (pbuh), they laid the foundations of the new society by building
the first Masjid in Quba.Muhammad
spent a few days at Quba before heading for Yathrib.
the scenes in Madina were similar to Quba but a much larger community welcomed the Prophet (pbuh). Some of the Ansar shabah were competing with each other to invite the prophet (pbuh) to their homes but the prophet saw. was moving forward through Madina with the crowds of people following him.
Finally, he stopped in a place where he made another masjid name
masjide nababi. The Prophet (pbuh) himself was involved in the construction of
the Masjid. He carried the materials and helped to erect the Masjid and the prophet (pbuh) had stayed as a guest in Abu Ayub’s
house. The masjid Nabawi where The prophet
(pbuh) would listen to the people’s problem and advise them and teach them the
message of Allah. the scenes in Madina were similar to Quba but a much larger community welcomed the Prophet (pbuh). Some of the Ansar shabah were competing with each other to invite the prophet (pbuh) to their homes but the prophet saw. was moving forward through Madina with the crowds of people following him.
After that a major issue the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would need to deal with was the large number of Muslims who had emigrated to Madina. Many of them had left everything behind, their only belongings were the clothes they were wearing those who were known as the Muhajireen (the people who made Hijra).
The prophet (pbuh) proposed that each of the Muhajir would be paired with the Ansar. Each would become a brother to the other thus sharing food, shelter and wealth with each other.
Amazingly, without any hesitation, the Ansar embraced the Prophet’s instructions and welcomed their new brothers.
The Muslims shared everything with each other. They became brothers in faith and whatever little they had for sustenance was shared between them.
The next important task to which the prophet (saw) directed his full attention was the establishment of relations between the Muslims and formulating rules and principles. Prophets saw. made an announcement with following instructions:
1. From now all the Muslims will be one Ummah. No divisions, no difference in between Muslims.49:10 “Believers are each other's brothers. Restore peace among your brothers. Have fear of God so that perhaps you will receive mercy.”
2. The believers shall be against whoever rebels or the one
who seeks to spread injustice, or sin or aggression or spread enmity in between
the believers.
3. In peace and war all the Muslims must stand together.
4. Whenever you have a disagreement
amongst you it must be referred to Allah and his messenger saw. “Indeed, by your Lord, they will not believe till they make you
adjudge in their disputes and find no constraint in their minds about your
decisions and accept them with full acquiescence.” (5:65)
The battle of
Badar (17 Ramadan,2nd hijri):
The Muslim community began to grow and
prosper in Madina. But,
the Makkans still tried to attack the Muslims
in Madina by instigating fighting and hatred against them. There
was still a lot of hostility and evil plotting against the Muslims and the
safety of the prophet (pbuh) was compromised, even in Madina. After 13 years had tolerated the prosecution of the Quraysh. This time Allah swt. given permission Muslims to fight back and defend themselves against all these hostile elements. “Permission is granted those (to take up arms) who fight because they were oppressed. God is certainly able to give help to those(22:39)”
when the makkan they decided to crush the Muslims and they marched to Badr. The news reached to the Muslims that a well-equipped Makkan army containing some of their finest soldiers was close by, ready to fight them.
The prophet (pbuh) always preferred the peaceful solution as this was demonstrated throughout his life but when a conflict was inevitable, the prophet was prepared to take this difficult step. He would plan carefully and take the opinions of his companions about how things should proceed.
The Prophet (pbuh) consulted the Sahabah. He told them of the situation, asking their advice and opinions. Some of the Sahabah replied that they were ready to fight back the Makkan Army. They would stand shoulder to shoulder with the prophet (pbuh) and follow whatever he commanded. They said that they were ready to lay down their lives for the noble cause of Islam. They would not hesitate to follow any of Allah’s commands and would support any decision the Prophet (pbuh) made.
But The Muslims were not well equipped with weapons - some of them didn’t even have swords or spears. The Makkans on the other hand were a fully equipped .The Makkan Army was more than three times bigger than the Muslim army.
And then the Makkan army marched forward to face the Muslims. They were confident that they would beat the Muslims. Abu Jahl in his pride and arrogance said that the army of truth will be victorious today.
Finally, on the morning of the 17th of Ramadan, in the second year of hijrah with 313 companion of prophet sw and 1000 makkan kuffar armies advance and drew closer to one another. This was the most significant war in the Islamic history. Allah swt helped directly Muslims by the angels what Allah swt mentioned in the Qur’an “God gave you victory in the battle of Badr where your forces were much weaker than those of the enemy. Have fear of God so that you may give Him thanks” (3:123) if Allah swt wouldn’t helped then the history of Islam would be different.
The outcome of battle of Badar in the loss of 14 Muslim shoulders and 70 men were killed from the opposition and 72 were captured by the muslims and most of the kuffar leaders were killed like abu jahl, umayyah ibn khalf. The makkans had been shatterd and they had been humiliated in the sight of Arabia. After this war they completely lose their strength, lose their brave against the Muslims but still the Quraysh didn’t give up yet until victory of Makkah.
Dear brothers! This is a brief
early madani life of prophet saw. In_shaa_Allah we will finish the series
discussion on the Seerah of prophet saw. in next week. As I mentioned before
this is the person whose teaching only can save us from the eternal hellfire.
In the grave the angels will ask us three questions and one of them about the
prophet saw. They will ask WHO is your Prophet? So, are we prepared for this
Question? What preparation we are taking to answer this Question? What lesson
we are taking from his Seerah.
