the significance of Hajj and the month of zulhajj

After two days one of the big Arabic month is coming which is the month of Zilhajj. Zilhajj is the month of pilgrimage/the month of hajj. the hajj One of the pillar of Islam which is performed in this month. already those who intending to do hajj most of them are on the way and rest of them will leave within 2/3 days. After they put on the IHRAM they will start to recite the 'Talbiah' which means "I respond to your call, O Allah I respond to your call, you have no partner, I respond to your call, all the thanks, praises and blessing are for you. All the sovereignty is for you and you have no partner with you".

And from the 8
th of zulhajj they will do the main acts of the hajj like the Tawaf, Sa'ee between Safa and Marwa and on fixed days they will visit the Mina, Arafah, Mujdalifah and again back to Mina. DOING all these things they will get closer to Allah swt. May Allah swt. Accept their hajj...aameen!
On the other hand, those who of us couldn't manage to go to HAJJ this year. what can we do, what should we do in these 10 days? Yes, there are chance to get closer to Allah swt. Allah swt. Didn't make us mahroom/deprived. If we do more good deeds, reciting the holy Qur'an, staying away from all kind of HARAM things Which our beloved prophet sw. is stating Narrated by ibn abbas ra. " no good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these days in the first 10 days of this month. And then some companion of prophet sw. asked him ya Rasulallah not even JHIAD? He: replied not even Jihad except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger for the sake of Allah and doesn't return any of those things which means he martyred"

dear brothers! For you and myself lets try to get all the blessing of this month.
There is a small masa'la for us: those who we are going to do Qurbani. the sunnah is not to shave or cut your hair and nails in these first 10 days. Prophet sw. saying narreted by umme salma RA. "When the first 10 days of the month of zilhajj starts, who wish to do qurbani He shouldn't cut his hair not to touch his skin to beautify himself" another narration he saying muslim.

Dear brothers! now the question is What is the meaning of hajj?
The word hajj is a Arabic word meaning is making wish or making intention to visit something. So visiting the ka'ba with some mandatory acts for the sake of Allah its called HAJJ.

Now the question is is it compulsory to everyone?

Who has to do the HAJJ?

Hajj is obligated by Allah upon every Muslim, male and female, who is physically and financially capable. Financially capable means not only those who has the nesaab of zakat but also who is rich which means the person who is capable to spend money for his journey and also capable to spend for his family in between time.

It is obligatory only once during the life time. but, anyone who does the hajj again and again he will be rewarded and then it would be an optional Hajj.

Allaah Almighty Says "and performing the Hajj (pilgrimage) of this house, for the sake of Allah, is a duty upon mankind, for those who can reach" 3:97

In a hadith prophet sw. saying Abu Hurayrah reported "once a man came and asked:
"What is the best deed?" He replied: "To believe in Allaah and His Messenger." then the man asked again: "What next?" The Prophet replied: "To fight in the cause of Allaah." He again asked: "What is the next best thing?" He replied: "Hajj ‘Mabroor’ (i.e., the Hajj that is free of sin and all its pillars and conditions are fulfilled)." [nasaee)
so, performing hajj its a best good deeds and a way to have mercy and blessing from Allah swt.

What is the excellence of HAJJ? What a person can get from Allah sw. by doing HAJJ:

there are lots of things a person can achive:

1.Hajj its one of the pillars of Islam : So, performing hajj is performing one of the basic obligatory duties which can be a prove or evidence of his eeman. Also, It would be considered his obediency to Allah swt. It shows whatever Allah ordered us we are happy to obey them. like Allah ordered us to do prayer, sawm, zakah and we do them if we don't do them which could be a reason to have Allahs wrath, anger. Allah swt saying "and performing the Hajj (pilgrimage) of this house, for the sake of Allah, is a duty upon mankind, for those who can reach" 3:97

so, performing hajj its an evidence to show we are obedient to Allah swt.

2.It wipes away all the past sins: a maqbul hajj can make you pure from sins like a new born baby: Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet said:

"He who performs Hajj seeking Allaah's pleasure and avoids all lewdness and sins (therein) will return after Hajj free from all sins, just as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim

in another hadith prophet sw.saying.. "do the hajj and umra every year coz, it makes clean and pure from all the sins what you do in between the year"

also he said in another hadith about the reward of a maqbool hajj he said: "Pilgrims and those performing 'Umrah are Allaah's guests; their prayers are answered and their supplications for forgiveness are granted."

so, the hajj is away to have forgiveness

3.we will have the rewards of jihad:
performing hajj It is a form of Jihaad: jihad is one of the important part of islam it has lots of rewards but, in this time there is no way for us to do jihad but, if we go to the hajj we can have the rewards of the jhihad as the journey to meccah is not that much easy. you have to face lots of hardship, troubles which would be considered a form of jihad. prophet sw. saying... Hajj is the Jihaad for the old, the weak and the women." [An-Nasaa'i]

in onother hadith when aysha ra. Asked to prophet sw. is there any jihad for the women he replied yes,"You may go for a Jihaad that involves no fighting, that are, Hajj and umra."

so these hadiths are telling us the rewards of performing hajj is the reward of jihad.

4. a way to be muttaqi/the pious: Taqwa is a arabic word means the fear of Allah SW. without having the quality of taqwa no one can do the good deeds, no one can avoid the haram things and finally no one can enter to the jannah/the paradise. This is very important to have the quality of taqwa. This is why Allah swt. Emphasise in many places in the Quarn he saying o believers fear Allah and don't die without being a proper muslim. he saying... 3:102

in a hadith prophet sw. saying narreted by abu zar RA. He asked to prophet please, give me an advice he replied.. im advising you to have the quality of taqwa coz, its beautify your all good deeds/good actions.

Dear brothers! Those who are going to hajj there are lots of things what we have to know

1.you have to have pure intentions you are not going to be called a hajjisab: your intention is you are doing the hajj only for the sake of Allah And you have to have that intention if you want have a maqbul hajj. the shytan he is waiting on your way. He doesn't want you to meet Allah and say oh my lord im here for you for your call.
So the pure intentions is one of the condition of accepting your hajj to allah swt.

2.you have to know all the rules of hajj the way prophet sw. showed to us:

this is very serious things that before going to hajj you have to know how to perform the hajj like how many fard things, how many wajib and also there are lots of forbiden thing that could affect your hajj like you cant be involve any kind of sexual things even not to your wife Allah swt. Saying 2:197 ALSO, you cant wear a normal clothes like sewed clothes, not to wear a hat or covering your head or you cant use any perfume, you cant cut your hair nails and cant hunt animals.

3.HALAL INCOME: this is another serious things you have to know that allah sw. wont accept your hajj if you go with haram money. This is one of the condition to accept our Ibadah. Prophet sw. saying narreted by abu hurayra...."allah swt. Clean and pure from any kind of haram. He doesn't accept any haram things."
another hadith narreted by abu hurayra..."when a person go to hajj with haram income and say labbayaka an angel announce from the sky you don't need to come, your coming doesn't bring any goodness for you. Because your income is haram and your hajj is not correct way and there is no reward for you" (tabrani)

what is the punishment of not doing hajj?

Who has the ability to perform hajj physically and financially but not doing hajj its a great sin and if he die without doing hajj prohet sw. considering them as christian or jews he saying in hadith narreted by Ali RA. "Those who has capability to go hajj but didn't go to hajj and died without doing hajj then there is not difference wether he is christian or jew." (tirmizi)

dear brothers!
In this country most of us are obliged to do hajj but, we are delaying and saying we will do it next year but, the next year not coming to us for long time.

But, its not wiser to delay as we don't know what is going to happen in next few ours. We should do it now because the hadith not recognising us as muslim if we die without doing  hajj.
